There are a number of platforms that have been built to provide social listening services, but they are often expensive, and the cheaper options are not always very customizable. Luckily, open coding languages like Python and R offer the tools to build a free, open source, completely customizable analysis workflow. The trick is to know when to use which technique to optimize the results of any analysis.
